Social television still has not reached its peak in Spain and during the month of May a new record for social viewers was broken with nearly 1.5 million unique users commenting on television programs. According to a report by General, this figure already represents 25% of the total Twitter accounts in Spain.

The major sporting events broadcast during May have once again placed this television genre as the most commented on socially with 2,868,191 comments in total. By programme, the Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid was the most talked-about broadcast of the month with more than 418,000 comments.

During the month of May, it accumulated a total of 72,845 social viewers who made 233,634.2 comments. The data obtained in the month of May not only exceeds the record of social viewers, but also the record of comments, since with 7,944,656, it exceeds the comments registered in the month of April by more than one million. This represents an increase of 7.5% compared to the 6.8 million comments coincident with the broadcast in April.
