Independent production will create around 200 jobs in the Region of Murcia, to which must be added those derived from the 7RM indirect management contract.

Signing of the agreement between TIMUR, APROMUR and ARTVRM in CROEM

The Murcian Association of Information Technology Companies (TIMUR), the Association of Audiovisual Production Entrepreneurs (APROMUR), the College of Journalists and the Association of Radio and Television Professionals (ARTVRM) have signed an institutional agreement in CROEM to develop the promotion and preferential hiring of journalists and professionals from the Region of Murcia in the audiovisual sector.

The presidents of TIMUR and APROMUR, José Carmona and Enrique Ortuño respectively; Juan Antonio De Heras, dean of the College of Journalists; and José García Solano, president of ARTV, signed this collaboration document that aims to promote Murcian audiovisual production and the vindication of its professionals.

For this reason, the companies integrated into TIMUR and APROMUR (CROEM member organizations) that carry out independent productions, that provide auxiliary technical services to the production of content, and that participate in the future indirect management of 7RM undertake to preferably hire journalists, technicians and professionals from the Region of Murcia who are in the Job Boards of the College of Journalists and the ARTVRM.

In addition, TIMUR and APROMUR will disseminate and recommend these Job Boards among their associates so that they contribute to the generation of the greatest number of jobs possible in a labor framework that balances supply and demand with attitudes, aptitudes, professional skills and experience. Work quality is the criterion that, in the opinion of the signatories, should prevail in job offers, so special attention will be paid to the salary issue and the conditions of the job.

On the other hand, the Murcian audiovisual sector wants to rely on professionals from the Region of Murcia to reinforce its objective of participating in the process of indirect management of the public service of regional television, as well as making companies in the Region actively participate in the production of independent content that allows them to meet and increase the financing objective reflected in the Framework Mandate.

The president of CROEM, Miguel del Toro, who presided over the signing of this agreement, expressed the Confederation's support for the audiovisual sector and the possibility of companies in the Region participating in the indirect management of 7 RM. “I have always been a true defender of professionals and companies in the Region of Murcia.” Within the freedom of business, “we must support the local productive fabric.”

Independent production

For their part, the presidents of TIMUR, José Carmona, and of APROMUR, Enrique Ortuño, have agreed to point out that the inclusion in the 7RM Framework Mandate that was approved by the Regional Assembly, of the obligation to allocate part of the resources to independent production in Murcia, will allow the creation of at least 200 direct jobs. To these must be added those derived from the indirect management contract of 7RM.

To fill these jobs, both organizations have committed to hiring Murcia professionals, relying primarily on the Job Boards of the Official College of Journalists and the Association of Radio and Television Professionals.

This commitment has been valued very positively by the president of ARTV "since in the future development of regional television in the Region of Murcia, professionals from this Region should be the first to be hired", as well as by the dean of the Official College of Journalists.

Juan Antonio De Heras has also recalled that the Government of the Region of Murcia must make known during this month of June the Program Contract, with the budget and contents to be financed in 7RM and Onda Regional de Murcia for the next 3 years. The dean of journalists trusts that these deadlines will be met, so that the tender to award television can be put out to tender as soon as possible. He has also valued the sector's commitment to the creation of the greatest number of jobs possible and to the quality of employment contracts.
