Grass Valley makes possible the first high definition broadcast in Ethiopia

Ethiopia's public television, Amhara TV, has selected Grass Valley to provide several solutions for the first high definition DTT broadcasts in the country.

A complete turnkey solution with cameras, multichannel control, mixers and matrices enables public television Amhara TV to carry out the first high definition broadcasts.

Ethiopia's public television, Amhara TV, has selected Grass Valley to provide several solutions for the first high definition DTT broadcasts in the country.

These solutions are intended for two new HD studios as well as a master control room.

Amhara TV has chosen to incorporate six HD LDK 3000+ and a Kayak production switcher. The main control room for multichannel broadcasting is based on Grass Valley's Maestro master control and branding system.

At the heart of the HD infrastructure we will find a Concerto matrix with Prelude control. The GeckoFlex signal processing system will provide the modular platform for signal control, which will be completed with a browser-based control system.

Grass Valley is providing Amhara TV with a full systems integration, training, project management, and ongoing consulting service to ensure a successful implementation of this migration to high definition.
