Barco has announced the launch of a free mobile application for Apple iOS and Android that allows exhibitors to easily control and operate their digital cinema equipment through their smartphones, tablets or other mobile devices.

The CineMate App will be available for download on the App Store and Google Play from mid-July.

The digitalization of the film industry has until now been very hardware-oriented and the digitalization of projection booth equipment has been the number one priority for all actors involved in this transition. Now that the conversion to digital cinema is well established, exhibitors around the world are looking for ways to make the most of their digital equipment base. To support them, Barco has developed this free application that will allow full control of your systems from any device.

As they are fully scalable systems, the user can simply add screens and build the structure of their projection room working with a very intuitive interface. The application also works perfectly with the Communicator LITE technology of Barco's DP2K-10S projectors and with those media servers that offer a web-based user interface. Currently, the CineMate App automatically detects Barco projectors and systems. Doremi IMS1000, which simplifies initial configuration. It also allows the integration of any other equipment based on a user interface already developed for a similar equipment, thus streamlining the exhibitor's day-to-day life.

From their own smartphone or tablet, users will be able to zoom into a specific projection booth and access the digital cinema equipment there (for example, servers or projectors). Therefore, they have immediate and centralized access to everything they need for the day-to-day operations of their servers (content management, planning...) and projectors (light, macros, dowser,...). And all this from anywhere in the room that has connectivity.
