'Encierro', by Olivier van der Zee, is already the most viewed Spanish documentary in 2013
The production, one of the first 3D documentary films in Spanish cinema, has been seen by more than 11,000 spectators since its premiere on June 28
The work of a technical team of six nationalities, with various 3D prototypes, has made possible one of the most spectacular stereoscopic documentaries: Confinement. Now, the film directed by Olivier van der Zee, after its successful run at the Malaga Festival, has already become the most viewed Spanish documentary in 2013.
Every year, thousands of people participate in one of the most dangerous events in the world: the Pamplona running of the bulls. This is the story of those who run. An action feature film, where the emotion and tension is continuous, loaded with violence but also beauty, it offers drama and heroism, in a cocktail of emotions transporting the audience to the streets of Pamplona, in front of a stampede of 600 kg bulls and their lethal horns.
The film has been shot in 3D, with multiple cameras along the entire route, where the bulls take place every day; and from a cable hung along Estafeta Street, with a camera that flies above the heads of horses and runners. The bulls literally fly off the screen towards the spectators, thanks to the 3D technology used, which will facilitate the experience of a running of the bulls, almost as real as if the spectators were running in one of the famous bull runs.
Encierro has been produced by D4D, REC and EiTB as associate producer. It has also had the collaboration of the Government of Navarra, the Pamplona City Council and the Diario de Navarra.
