'Bull Run', a Spanish documentary about the crypto world, will premiere at DOC NYC 2023

The official competition section of the documentary festival DOC NYC 2023 will feature 'Bull Run', a comedy documentary film about cryptocurrencies.

Cosabona Films produce Bull Run, a film directed by Ana Ramon Rubio which will be released internationally in DOC NYC 2023 and which will have two screenings within its official competition section: on November 15 and 16 at the IFC Center and at the Angelika Villa in Manhattan.

Qualifying competition for the Oscars, DOC NYC is proud to have screened 49 of the last 55 documentaries nominated for the Academy Awards. The event has chosen, from among more than a thousand films, to premiere this particular docucomedia Spanish on the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Director Ana Ramón Rubio and producer Juanjo Moscardó of Cosabona Films will travel to New York to present the film, along with the team Sideways Films, in charge of international sales for Bull Run.

In Bull Run, the director delves into the inhospitable world of cryptocurrencies to analyze whether they will truly be the revolution that will change the financial system forever, and he does so based on his comical personal experience; that of a filmmaker who gets hooked on the most opposite thing there can be to art: cryptocurrency trading. In addition to introducing the crypto ecosystem to the viewer, Bull Run talks about market cycles, speculation through memecoins such as Dogecoin or Shiba and the sociological implications of the adoption of this new technology, with the consequences (positive and negative) that all this has entailed not only in the life of the protagonist, but in that of all the secondary characters that are part of the story.

Bull Run It is the first full-length documentary film tokenized, in which the digital representation of the film is divided into tokens that belong to its investors. Ninety-eight tokenholders acquired shares of it and will receive the proportional part in dividends of Bull Run's cash flow, thus becoming a practical example of everything that the blockchain can contribute beyond financial speculation.
