4K invades every corner of IBC 2013 (Videosumen)
The media and entertainment industry is moving from high definition to 4K, and there is even talk of higher resolutions such as 8K exhibited by the Japanese NHK.
If in the two previous editions there was a “stereomania”, in this IBC, 3D falls into the deepest of oblivion, collecting the scepter of queen of the Ultra High Definition fair.
Higher resolutions mean that, just like the migration from SD to HD, professionals who create, manage or distribute content will have to process four times more data.
This new transition will require new tools and the establishment of more flexible and faster workflows but, at the same time, capable of dealing with the similar amount of data that 4K entails.
