Harmonic at IBC 2013

Harmonic has announced the expansion of its support services to customers using its solutions on cable networks. The company's new services group is made up of a broad team of technical engineers dedicated to helping operators in the design, strategy, implementation, migration and support of cable networks. Customers will be supported to implement, for example, Harmonic's next-generation EdgeQAM NSG high-density solution, as well as the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP).

Nimrod Ben-Natan, senior vice president and general manager of cable products at Harmonic, highlighted that "we are taking our service offering to the next level, simplifying the deployment, operation and maintenance of cable networks and real-time production for operators. We will help our customers protect their infrastructure investment, allowing them to deploy new technologies, such as CCAP, with minimal disruption as their needs and requirements change. We will act as an extension of their employees so they can expand their capacity. and optimize benefits more quickly.”

Services offered include physical system installation, supply, relevant testing, migration support, EdgeQAM legacy recovery and operator training. Unlike other services that bill by the hour, the model now proposed by Harmonic is based on a fixed price per project. This service is now available to customers of all Harmonic NSG products.
