Mediapro deploys a team of 300 professionals and ten mobile units for Barça-Madrid

A total of 36 cameras and 5 Super Slow Motion deployed at the Camp Nou will take all the excitement of the match to more than 50 countries around the world. The Barça-Madrid signal can also be followed in 3D throughout America.

On Saturday, October 26, one of the events with the greatest television coverage worldwide will take place. Mediapro will produce the signal for the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, which will be distributed to all countries on the planet in HD and 3D format for ESPN and Bein Sport USA, reaching all of America.

The expectation generated by the duels between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid grows season after season and on this occasion there are 50 countries that will broadcast the match live.

The match between Barça and Madrid is one of the most watched events worldwide and not only in the sporting field. The match will have a potential audience of 400 million viewers, but the broadcast schedule in continents such as America or Asia means that it is expected to surpass the audience records of recent years. For example, Barça-Madrid will be played in Miami at 12 noon, in Bogotá at 11 a.m., in Bangkok at 11 p.m. or in Dubai at 8 p.m.

There is no other sporting event of a domestic competition or a football match between teams from the same country that arouses greater international interest. The technical display and media interest can be compared to that displayed for a big NBA game, an American football match, a Champions League final or even a World Cup.

Great technical deployment

To guarantee the best broadcast of a sporting event that has generated so many expectations, Mediapro has prepared a great technical and human device in which more than three hundred professionals will participate (producers, directors, technicians...), 10 mobile units, one of them with 3D technology; and a deployment of thirty-six cameras at the Camp Nou, 4 destined for Gol Television, which will have its own mobile unit and will offer exclusive images from the box and at the foot of the field. In addition, Gol Television will have ENG teams covering the atmosphere in the pre- and post-match.

A total of five Super Slow Motion cameras will create the most spectacular replays of the match, two goal lines to check if the ball has gone in, a Steadycam for tracking dead balls, a Beauty for higher views of the stadium and two tracking cameras for technicians Gerardo Martino and Carlo Ancelotti.

Mediapro will also serve the signal in 3D, with a specific production for ESPN and Bein Sport USA. The match can be seen in all its 3D spectacularity in South America and North America. A mobile unit, ten cameras with 3D technology developed at Mediapro and more than 40 professionals will serve the signal in this format.

The match will be carried out by Oscar A. Tomàs, one of the most reputable sports directors with the most experience in this field. Tomàs was already in charge of covering the last three Barça – Madrid League matches at the Camp Nou and has carried out more than 500 matches in the BBVA League, the Champions League, World Cups, Euro Cup, Gold Cup and African Cup.

The match can be followed live in more than 50 countries and the main international networks have acquired the rights to the match to offer it to their viewers: Fox Sports, Bein Sport USA, Bein Sport France, Canal + Sweden, Canal + Norway, Canal + Africa, ESPN or Al Jazeera.

Al Jazeera Sports will carry out an unprecedented deployment with the aim of covering Barça-Madrid for the entire Middle East and will have three sets of commentators installed at the Camp Nou, two in the press box and another on the grass. The chain will begin with the preview and connections from the stadium from Friday. Paco Buyo and Chapi Ferrer will commentate the match for Al Jazeera Sports.

It will be the first time that the Belgacom or Digisport channels personalize their signal from the Camp Nou in a match between these two teams to offer all the details and unpublished images to their subscribers. The Romanian channel will start at 1pm with a preview from the Camp Nou and will feature the presence of former Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Getafe player, Gica Craioveanu.

Other former players or famous people from the world of football who will also be at the Camp Nou to comment on the match are: Sonny Anderson and Luis Fernández (BeIn Sport France), Patrick M'Boma (Canal + Africa), Pedro Elías (Belgacom), Fabio Capello (Fox Italia) and Leszek Orłowski (Canal + Poland).

More than 400 people from national and international television operators have been accredited to cover Barça-Madrid from the Camp Nou.
