Neotécnica concludes in Madrid the first stages of the roadshow to present Avid's new S3L system

Neotécnica ha concluido esta semana en Madrid las primeras etapas de su roadshow en el que ha presentado todo un nuevo referente entre los sistemas compactos de mezcla para directo, con procesamiento HDX para mezcla y plug-ins, y la capacidad de alcanzar configuraciones de hasta 64 entradas/32 salidas remotas.

Tras su paso por Bilbao, Murcia, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela y Oviedo, Neotecnica han concluido esta semana en Madrid las primeras etapas de su roadshow para presentar el nuevo sistema S3L de Avid. Neotécnica ha concluido así la primera etapa de esta gira en la que los profesionales han podido conocer en sesiones de formación de dos horas todos los secretos de este nuevo sistema para mezcla.

Todo un nuevo referente entre los sistemas compactos de mezcla para directo, con procesamiento HDX para mezcla y plug-ins, y la capacidad de alcanzar configuraciones de hasta 64 entradas/32 salidas remotas, la nueva solución de Avida aporta otras características únicas como la grabación directa de 64 canales a Pro Tools (u otras DAW Asio) mediante un único cable Ethernet, así como la posibilidad de controlar Pro Tools o cualquier DAW compatible con Eucon.

Este nuevo sistema altamente flexible y escalable funciona con el software Venue, lo que garantiza la compatibilidad de shows con los reconocidos sistemas D-Show, Profile, Profile Mix Rack y SC48.

Procesamiento, control y rack remoto

The Venue S3L system is based on three main elements: processing unit, control surface and remote input/output rack.

Thus, at the heart of the system is the E3 processing unit, which works with the renowned Venue software as the control center of the entire system. The E3 unit features HDX processing, compatible with AAX DSP plug-ins, and is equipped with three Gigabit Ethernet AVB ports, with EtherCON security connectors. It also has a specific Ethernet port for remote control using a laptop or tablet.

The Stage 16 remote input/output rack has 16 analog inputs in XLR format with remote control of the microphone preamp. It also has eight line outputs in XLR format and four AES3 digital output channels. Its very resistant chassis has two robust side handles that facilitate its transport, or allow it to be placed in a rack. It is possible to configure systems with 1, 2, 3 and up to 4 remote racks (S3L 16, S3L 32, S3L 48 and S3L 64 systems).

Much more than a controller

Finally, the S3 control surface has 16 faders, with six layers that can be grouped into banks. It also has 32 touch encoders and high-resolution OLED screens, clearly visible even in broad daylight. And something that makes the Surface S3 unique is the fact that it is not just the controller for this sophisticated live mixing system. It is also a controller for Pro Tools and other DAWs that support the EUCON protocol. This represents a true milestone in flexibility and amortization of the invested capital. Another outstanding point is the weight of the Surface S3, which is just 6.2 kilograms.

The new Venue S3L system works with Venue 4 software, which adds important improvements such as: two-track recording and playback directly to a standard USB memory. This feature is controllable from the new “Media” page, which offers transport controls (play, record, stop, etc.) for said media. Another highly relevant feature of the Venue 4 software is the improved “Virtual Soundcheck”; Input tracks from Pro Tools can now be chosen selectively. This way, part of the band can try out real musicians on stage, while the remaining tracks can be played from Pro Tools.
