Live production systems EVS are playing an instrumental role in Fox Sports' coverage of the 2013 World Series. Among the systems deployed, a total of 29 XT servers stand out, one of them used to zoom 4K.

Rental company VER has provided Fox Sports with an XT3 server with eight 4K channels with Epsio Zoom, two servers with eight channels and four with six channels. Two of these XT3 servers have been used for super slow-motion replays and another two for archiving and transcoding.

For their part, Game Creek Video in Boston and NEP in St. Louis have equipped their mobile units with 14 XT servers and the system for transcoding and archiving Series. With a simple update, the XT3 4K with Epsio Zoom has given us greater clarity in the replays and has allowed us to zoom in obtaining a very high quality image.”

Of note, the XT3 server allows ingest and playback of live 4K sources. Existing XT3 customers can migrate to 4K with a nominal upgrade to their systems, keeping the user interface identical to the original, and without requiring additional training for operators. Together with Epsio Zoom, it allows you to increase any area of ​​the image in a 16:9 format from 4K to HD.
