Vizrt begins the purchase process of Mosart Medialab
The acquisition, whose economic valuation has not been disclosed, will mean the full integration of the Mosart automation system into the Vizrt product portfolio.
TV 2 Gruppen, parent company of Mosart Medialab, has signed a non-binding specification with Vizrt by which the company specialized in advanced graphics and intelligent workflows will acquire all the issued shares of Mosart. The acquisition, whose economic valuation has not been disclosed, will mean the full integration of the Mosart automation system into the Vizrt product portfolio.
John Kjellevold, CEO of Mosart Medialab, highlighted that "Mosart technology will bring unique functionality to Vizrt's workflow solutions offering, and our products are already very well integrated, thanks to working together beyond meeting the specific needs of our mutual customers. In the future, as part of Vizrt, Mosart will benefit from Vizrt's large international sales volume, as well as its strong reputation and brand recognition. This will allow us to strengthen the value of automation Mosart for users in a wide range of markets.”
Mosart automation allows very few operators to control complex productions through an intuitive software interface. The Mosart system collects input from the newsroom system, controls the systems and devices, and allows the operator to maintain control of both regular broadcasts and breaking news.
Martin Burkhalter, CEO of Vizrt, is excited about the possibilities that this transaction can bring to Vizrt and our clients. Mosart's technology is a perfect complement to our intelligent workflow solutions, and will enhance our offering for broadcasters on a global scale.” “This transaction makes sense for us, both strategically and financially. Mosart has shown strong growth, and we rely on our due diligence to show that the acquisition is profitable,” added Burkhalter.
"Mosart's technology will allow us to simplify content production for our current and future customers. The proposed joining of forces not only adds products to our portfolio, but will also allow us to develop new products and integrated workflows. The integration of Mosart's technology with Viz Engine, for example, will offer the market a very powerful and efficient in-a-box solution," said Vizrt's chief technology officer, Petter Ole Jakobsen.
