The EBU promotes European Film Week
A total of 26 public television stations participate with the broadcast of European productions and a system of exchange of works to which TVE has contributed with the TV movie 'Clara Campoamor, the forgotten woman'.
The European Radio-Television Union (EBU) launches from November 30 to December 8 an initiative to support cinema made in Europe and promote a system of exchange of European films. Throughout the week, TVE joins this Week by broadcasting nine films produced on our continent.
To celebrate the contribution of European filmmakers and the close relationship between the film industry and public media, the EBU and its members launch European Film Week, in which 26 audiovisual operators from 25 countries participate.
European Film Week is born from the conviction of public television that European cinema “is a common good for everyone on this continent” and that its public service mission includes providing quality, innovative and accessible cultural offerings. Remember that public broadcasters “are one of the most important supports in the film industry.” “We are proud to be part of this relationship and we will strive to preserve its continuity,” say the television stations promoting the initiative.
It is the largest film event in Europe, from the point of view of the number of spectators these productions will reach. The participating television stations will broadcast a large number of European films, many of them their own co-productions or films that they have already acquired. In addition, a system for the exchange of audiovisual works has been established to which Spain has contributed with the film co-produced by TVE and directed by Laura Mañá Clara Campoamor, the forgotten woman, which has turned out to be the second most requested film in the rest of the countries.
