TiVo founders take on new projects
Mike Ramsey and Jim Barton are working on a new product that sits at the nexus of the most interesting trends in video, mobile and social.
The co-founders of TiVo, Mike Ramsey and Jim Barton, are willing to innovate with projects that follow in the footsteps of the successful set-top-box. After Barton's departure from TiVo at the beginning of 2012 and Ramsay's launch of the defunct InVisioneer, the two are now joining forces again on new projects.
Although little has emerged about their plans, it is already known that they are working on a new product that is at the nexus of the most interesting trends in video, mobile and social. At the moment, they have already submitted a small adapter called QPlay with HDMI output and an iPad application that will allow its control for approval by the North American FCC.
According to its founders, QPlay will provide “new ways to discover, play and share video content.”
