The Sala Berlanga in Madrid projects the 'Goya 2014' cycle from February 4 to 16
The SGAE Foundation has organized a series that includes a selection of the finalist films for the 2014 Goya Awards.
On the occasion of the 28th edition of the awards granted by the Spanish Film Academy, the SGAE Foundation has organized a cycle that includes a selection of the finalist films for the 2014 Goya Awards. Thus, from February 4 to 16, the Sala Berlanga (Andrés Mellado, 53 Masdrid) hosts two unique works, Cannibal, by Manuel Martín Cuenca (nominated for 8 nominations) and the debut feature by editor Fernando Franco, The wound (7 nominations), both works framed in what has been called “Other Spanish Cinema”; and the disturbing Stockholm (3 nominations), conceived as a joint authorial project, with an unexpected outcome.
There is also the latest work by one of the most relevant representatives of the New Spanish Comedy, director Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, with The great Spanish family (11 candidates) and one of the most personal authors on the Spanish scene, Gracia Querejeta, with a mature work, 15 years and one day (7 nominations) The selection is completed by a documentary by Pilar Pérez Solano, The teachers of the republic (nominated for Best Documentary Film), testimony of the teaching work of those women committed to the values of equality in the historical period of the Republic.
