AJA begins marketing Io 4K for the new Mac Pro

Io 4K enables the capture, sending and playback of video and audio in 2K and 4K via Thunderbolt 2.

AJA Video Systems today announced the availability of Io 4K, an evolution of its popular professional video input/output solution, updated and customized for 4K technology and new 4K post-production environments.

Io 4K can connect to any Thunderbolt 2 device, such as the new Mac Pro, and offers an additional Thunderbolt 2 port for daisy chaining other peripherals such as high-resolution displays and high-capacity storage.

This solution will offer a wide range of connectivity for video and audio, supporting the latest 4K and UltraHD devices. AJA's proven conversion technology enables high-quality, real-time upscaling from 4K and UltraHD to HD. AJA was one of the first manufacturers to support Thunderbolt 2 in its Io XT and T-TAP range. Thunderbolt 2 enables unprecedented high-resolution workflows for video professionals. Now, with Io 4K, AJA takes advantage of maximum bandwidth to facilitate post-production with 4K materials.
