Data Media completes the high definition migration of TBN in Madrid
The project has integrated five Sony HXC-D70 cameras with optical links and Canon lenses, a Sony MVS-3000 mixer, a Ross Xpression HD character generator from Ross Video, a Vista 1 console from Studer and various infrastructure equipment from AJA, among other solutions.
Datos Media Technologies has completed a major renovation of the Trinity Broadcasting Network studio and production center in order to migrate its facilities in Madrid's Image City to a high definition environment. This broadcaster began its activity in 1973 in Los Angeles, establishing itself in Madrid in the mid-eighties.
Richard Fleming, from TBN Europe, highlights that "currently the TBN Madrid facilities serve as a hub for satellite broadcasting to the TBN affiliate networks in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Many of TBN's most popular programs are recorded live in front of an audience, and the new studio integrated by Data Media provides us with the latest in high definition technology, thus allowing us to maintain the quality of our production at the highest level."
Fleming added that Data Media, together with its British partner ATG Broadcast, were the logical choice due to their reputation and innovative combined designs, both in live studio systems and digital content management. “In addition, the fact that they are based in Madrid allows them to offer us continuous support and service both today and tomorrow at TBN,” Fleming stressed.
The project
Five cameras have been integrated into the project Sony HXC-D70 with optical links and lenses Canon; various Cartoni and Jimmy Jib stands; a Sony MVS-3000 mixer, and a Ross Xpression HD character generator from Ross Video. The mixer incorporates multi-screen output with direct monitoring of audio and video sources. For editing, Final Cut Pro X has been chosen.
David Martínez, operations manager at Data Media, highlighted that “audio production is carried out from a console Studer View 1 with 30 motorized faders. This allows you to work with AKG, Beyer, Sennheiser, and Shure microphones, plus ten channels for Sony digital microphones. Infrastructure equipment includes a video format converter AJA, a 32 x 32 AJA HD-SDI router; Eizo, LG, Mitsubishi monitors in 50 and 55 inches; Omnitek test and measurement equipment; a Trilogy master timing generator; and a VidiGo ToolBox media player.
Martínez has emphasized that the entire project was completed on time and the new HD studio and production center are now fully up in the air: "this was a fairly ambitious project for us, given TBN's reputation for maintaining the most demanding standards of technical quality. We are very happy with the results."
