Seven films, a documentary and an animation film participated by TVE in the XVII Malaga Festival
'Don't cry, fly', 'Love at its point', '10,000 km', 'For a handful of kisses', 'They're all dead', 'The unexpected life' and 'A night in old Mexico' will participate in the Official Section.
Spanish Television presents seven feature films in the Official Section of the Malaga Film Festival that starts on March 21. They are, 'Don't cry, fly', by Claudia Llosa, who inaugurates this contest; ‘Love at its point’ by Dominique Harari and Teresa de Pelegri; '10,000 km', by Carlos Marques-Marcet; 'A Fistful of Kisses', by David Menkes; 'Everyone is dead', by Beatriz Sanchís; 'The Unexpected Life' by Jorge Torregrosa; and 'A Night in Old Mexico', directed by Emilio Aragón, which closes this event, out of competition. In addition, he will participate with 'Escocia', by Jorge Peña, in the Documentary Section and in the Animazine Section, with the film 'La tropa de trapo en la selva del Arcoiris', directed by Álex Colls.
From March 21 to 29, Málaga will become a showcase for some of the most anticipated titles in Spanish cinema, including seven films that feature TVE's participation and are presented this year in the Official Section. The competition for this 17th Edition of the Malaga festival will open with 'Don't cry, fly', by Claudia Llosa, the story of a struggling mother separated from her son by an accident, starring Jennifer Connelly, Cillian Murphy and Melanie Laurent.
On Sunday the 23rd, 'Amor en su punto' will be presented, a romantic comedy directed by Dominique Harari and Teresa de Pelegri and starring Leonor Watling and Richard Coyle. '10,000 km', directed by Carlos Marques-Marcet, will be shown on the 24th. Starring David Verdaguer and Natalia Tena, it tells how a couple faces having to live 10,000 km apart.
'For a handful of kisses' will be seen in Malaga on Wednesday the 26th, a romantic drama directed by David Menkes and starring Ana de Armas, Martiño Rivas and Marina Salas. 'Everyone is dead' is a drama directed by Beatriz Sanchís starring Elena Anaya and Macarena García and will premiere on March 27. On the 28th, 'La vida unexpected', a comedy by Jorge Torregrosa about chance and destiny, with Javier Cámara, Raúl Arévalo, Carmen Ruiz and Tammy Blanchard.
The festival closes on Saturday, March 29, and out of competition, 'A Night in Old Mexico', a drama directed by Emilio Aragón and starring Robert Duvall, Jeremy Irvine, Angie Cepeda and Luis Tosar, a road adventure fueled by tequila, with a feverish stop in the Mexican night.
TVE in other sections
In the Documentary Section, TVE participates with 'Escocia', by Jorge Peña. It tells the story of a woman, Montse, who enjoys watching planes take off from El Prat airport in Barcelona. He dreams of flying in one of them to Scotland, the country he would like to visit before he dies. He has metastatic kidney cancer and will tell his reflections through a home camera.
Finally, in the Animazine Section with the participation of TVE, 'The Rag Troop in the Rainbow Jungle', by Álex Colls, will be presented, the story of a group of rag pets who travel to the Rainbow Jungle to help other animals that are in danger, for which they will have to summon ingenuity and teamwork.
