Seven films will compete for the XIV RTVE-Otra Mirada award, award that RTVE delivers each year feature films that deal with themes close to the female world, directed, performed or written by women. Or also by men who show a special sensitivity to the world of women in their films.
He jury It is made up of actress Belén Cuesta, winner of the Goya Award for Best Actress this year; Elena Rivera, director of Dock of the Bay, a musical documentary film festival in San Sebastián; and the director of the Culture and Society area of La 2, Urbana Gil.
Among the candidates this year, Akelarre, by Pablo Agüero (Spain-France-Argentina) and Passion Simple, by Danielle Arbid (France-Belgium), Official Section.
Gal -Mae –Gil (Gull), by Kim Mi-jo (South Korea), from the New Directors section; The thousand and ones, by Clarisa Navas (Argentina-Germany); and Night Vision, by Carolina Moscoso (Chile), from Horizontes Latinos.
Y Never, almost never, sometimes, always, by Elisa Hittman (Great Britain-USA); and Miss Marx, de Susanna Micchiarelli (Italia), de Perlas.
Como en ediciones anteriores, el premio supone la adquisición de los derechos de antena de la película ganadora. Las cintas que compiten por el premio son seleccionadas por el festival entre las que se estrenan en cada edición.
El año pasado fue premiada La ola verde (Que sea ley) Let it be law, de Juan Solanas (Argentina, Uruguay y Francia), cinta en torno a los problemas y la lucha por terminar con los abortos clandestinos en Argentina.
