Christie Vive Audio helps Dolby Atmos to boost the Cinemex group's CinemExtremo theaters in Mexico

Introducing the pioneering, cinema-specific, single-box line array loudspeaker design, Christie Vive Audio launches the next generation of cinematic sound in Mexico.

Cinemex, the sixth largest cinema chain in the world, is installing surround sound solutions Christie Live Audio in its CinemeXtremo rooms that work with sound technology Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Atmos unleashes the full potential of sound by allowing filmmakers to easily place or move sounds anywhere in the theater with object-based audio to create a vivid virtual reality acoustic panorama. Thanks to these facilities, Cinemex becomes the chain with the largest number of premium theaters in Latin America offering a combination of Dolby Atmos and Christie Vive Audio.

Cinemex's CinemeXtremo auditoriums have giant screens, 100% digital cinema projection and ergonomic seats to provide maximum comfort to movie fans. Christie Vive Audio, installed by the Christie Managed Services team, features efficient ribbon driver technology and a unique parabolic line array design in a single compact unit to deliver exceptionally consistent coverage throughout the room.

Each CinemeXtremo room, specially configured to meet Dolby Atmos specifications, is being upgraded with different combinations of Christie Vive Audio LA3 front speakers, S215 subwoofers (for full-range frequency response), S218 for low-frequency effects channels (subwoofers), LA3S and LA5S for in-wall surround sound, and LA3C for in-ceiling surround sound.

The complete Christie Vive Audio solution consists of pioneering surround sound speakers designed for ceilings and walls, as well as front speakers, integrated with unique subwoofers powered by Class D amplifiers.
