The Kudelski Group acquires Conax
Kudelski will add to his portfolio of solutions for content protection, with Nagra as a flagship, Conox's developments.
The Austrian group Kudelski It has just signed a definitive agreement to acquire Conax, currently in the hands of Telenor Broadcast Holding.
Based in Oslo, Conax is a global provider of solutions for protection of digital television content both in broadcasting, broadband or connected devices.
CONAX offers telks, cable, satellite, IP, mobile and land operators flexible and profitable solutions for safe delivery of top quality content, including its most recent generation security platform, CONAX FALL, which offers content protection through multiple consumption and multiplatform devices.
André Kudelski, president and CEO of Kudelski, has been very happy to “welcome the Conax team to the Kudelski group. Its geographical presence and solution of solutions are complementary to Nagra. With this acquisition, we further expand our client portfolio in Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia”.
The CONAX client base will benefit from the wide portfolio of Kudelski solutions such as next -generation OPENTV5 Middleware, Multipurpose/OTT and Advanced Conditional Access modules of SMARDTV.
The net price of the purchase operation is approximately 200 million Swiss francs (about 163 million euros), and is expected to be completed in ten days.
