It acquires the rights to broadcast on pay and open air and in all formats and platforms, including the rights to produce a Formula One channel, for a period of five years.

Mediapro has reached an agreement with Formula One World Championship, owner of the rights to the FIA ​​Formula One World Championship, for the exclusive acquisition of the broadcasting rights of the championship for the entire territory of Latin America, specifically the territories of Central America, South America (except Brazil) and the Caribbean, with a potential television audience of 400 million viewers. The agreement is for a period of five years, from 2015 to 2019, both included. In this period Mediapro will be able to group all the content associated with the competition and produce a Formula One TV channel.

This agreement grants Mediapro the exclusive broadcasting rights, both free-to-air and paid and on all platforms and devices, for all Formula 1 races, as well as qualifying series and training sessions.

For Mediapro, the FIA ​​Formula One World Championship is one of the most outstanding Premium contents in the world and of great importance for the emerging Latin American market. With this agreement Mediapro reinforces its position in the global market for sports audiovisual rights since it manages the rights of the Spanish BBVA League, the Liga Adelante both in Spain and internationally and, for seven years, those of Formula 1 in Spain. Mediapro has also acquired the rights for Spain to the main international football leagues, the UEFA Europa League, the Copa Libertadores, the World Cup in Brazil and the Euroleague Basketball, among other competitions.

The management of sports rights represents 35% of the Group's income, which obtained a turnover of 1,387 million euros in 2013.
