‘Las Patronas’ (Azteca Televisión, México), ‘Salvando los niños del Bronx”'(Caracol Televisión, Colombia) y ‘Enfrentamiento en el PRD’ (Noticias Sin, República Dominicana), han sido los galardonados

Iris America AwardThe Academy of Television Sciences and Arts and the Latin American Information Alliance, a non-profit organization created in 2005, made up of more than twenty private television networks from Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States. , have presented the Iris América Awards within the framework of the VIII Annual Assembly of the Latin American Alliance held last Friday, April 25 in San José, Costa Rica. These awards are a recognition of the best journalistic works carried out in Latin America.

During the presentation of these awards, which have had the support of Banco Santander, Manuel Campo Vidal, president of the Television Academy and president of the jury of the Iris América Awards, highlighted the excellent workmanship and quality of all the works presented, as well as the respect that Spain has for the dynamism and importance that the Ibero-American industry is gaining. Also, he wanted to show the intention that Spain has to seek convergence around the defense of communication in Spanish and Portuguese.

Enrique Cruz, executive of Wapa TV (Puerto Rico) and representing AIL and the jury, highlighted the intensity of the jury's work in having to choose the best works among the 65 candidates presented. For his part, Paco Moreno, member of the Board of Directors of the Television Academy, spoke of the importance that the Television Academy gives in Spain to all the professionals behind the cameras, pointing out that the Talent Awards ceremony is probably the most emotional. Likewise, he encouraged everyone present to defend teamwork and continue rewarding television excellence.

The event was also attended by Pierre Baldié, 2008 Talent Award from the Television Academy and one of the pioneers who introduced video editing on TVE in the seventies.

The three professionals who have received the award in each of the categories will enjoy a one-week stay in Spain learning about the operation of the information services of a Spanish television network.

From AIL they have expressed interest in continuing to deepen relations with the Television Academy and, thus, advance in the creation of an alliance that brings together professionals from both sides of the Atlantic.
