Iris America Awards 2022

In a ceremony broadcast and produced by Channel 4 of Uruguay during the closing of the XIV Assembly of the Latin American Information Alliance, the Television Academy together with the AIL, presented the Iris América 2022 Awards.

The event included interventions by the president of the Television Academy, Maria Casado; of the president emeritus, Manuel Campo Vidal; the news manager of Channel 4, Gonzalo Terra and the director of AIL, Juan Carlos Isaza.

ManuelvCampo Vidal, María Casado and Francisco MorenoThe jury for the 2022 Iris América Awards was made up of María Casado, journalist and president of the Television Academy; Manuel Campo Vidal, journalist and president emeritus of the Academy, Ana Ortas, journalist and professor at the Business Institute; Iscar Blanco, Marketing Director for Latin America of La Voz de América and Mayte Carrasco, war correspondent and writer.

The winners in each of the categories will be awarded with a five day trip to Spain to make a tour of the different televisions in the country and a series of meetings with audiovisual professionals.

Tras dos años de pandemia, la Alianza Informativa Latinoamericana celebró su XIV Asamblea Anual del 3 al 6 de mayo en Montevideo (Uruguay). Este reencuentro congregó a representantes de más de 20 televisiones de América, Europa y Asia. En el evento, participaron ponentes como el presidente emérito de la Academia, Manuel Campo Vidal, que moderó un debate sobre La política y los medios de comunicación en Latinoamérica entre directivos de Artear, Televisión Azteca y Bandeirantes. También destacó la participación en la Asamblea de uno de los supervivientes de la tragedia del avión de los Andes, el médico Roberto Canessa.

The Latin American Informative Alliance is a non-profit organization, created in 2005, made up of more than twenty television networks from Latin America, the Caribbean, the USA and Spain: CBS (USA), Caracol Televisión (Colombia), Azteca Guatemala (Guatemala), Televisión Azteca (Mexico), El Noticiero (El Salvador), Canal 11 (Honduras), Teletica (Costa Rica), TVN (Panama), Venevisión (Venezuela), Ecuavisa (Ecuador), Latina (Peru), Unitel (Bolivia), Telefuturo (Paraguay), Artear (Argentina), Megamedia (Chile), Channel 4 (Uruguay), Bandeirantes (Brazil), WAPA (Puerto Rico), Noticias SIN (Dominican Republic), Telearuba (Aruba), Telecuraçao (Curaçao) and Televisión Canaria (Spain).
