Imagine will show at IBC its proposals for IP environments, virtualization and networks
At IBC 2014, Imagine Communications will exhibit its latest innovations in end-to-end solutions that respond to challenges such as TV Everywhere or intelligent contribution and distribution networks.
Charlie Vogt, CEO de Imagine and in charge of opening this edition of IBC with his presentation Assessment of the health of broadcast, has assured that "since the presentation of our new technological roadmap at the beginning of this year, we have invested significantly and innovated rapidly to fulfill our vision of leading the broadcast, OTT and services market with scalable and much more flexible infrastructures, and a service-oriented software architecture. We are very happy to be at IBC with tangible demonstrations of virtualization, software-defined networks, solutions and workflows that “They will help solve our clients’ biggest challenges as they pursue unprecedented monetization opportunities.”
Visitors to the Imagine booth will experience first-hand Imagine solutions that are facilitating the transition to a future defined by IP, software-defined networking and workflows, virtualization and TV Everywhere. Attendees like, thanks to the use of the cloud and IP technologies, it will be possible to improve the way in which companies in the sector deliver and monetize multiscreen content.
Among other proposals, we can check Imagine's proposal for cloud playout. The company will introduce innovations that redefine how video is sourced, managed, stored and delivered. The demonstrations will combine original content in public and private clouds with on-ramps and off-ramps to baseband and IP video; hybrid integration of playout systems taking advantage of existing infrastructures and seamless transformation for multi-platform distribution including TV Everywhere.
Regarding software-defined networks, SDN multiservice networks now simplify their architecture by operating in hybrid baseband and IP environments, allowing the video bitstream to be mapped by software and the creation of a fully virtualized network structure for the deployment of advanced services. Imagine's MultiService SDN offers its customers exceptional flexibility and scalability as they transition to IP while leveraging their baseband infrastructure investments.
Building on the service-oriented MediaCentral platform, Imagine will highlight new solutions and functionalities of the Landmark business application management solution, including campaign management with dynamic insertion of linear and non-linear streaming content spots. The new capabilities allow smart decisions to be made faster across traditional linear television, mobile, video on demand and OTT. Imagine thus aims to make it easier for media companies to create cross-platform campaigns that capitalize on the growing variety of monetization opportunities.
Software-defined workflows
As far as software-defined workflows are concerned, Imagine after the acquisition of Digital Rapids will offer at IBC the Xenio workflow management solution that offers an agile software engine that allows the design, implementation and management of extensible, customizable and software-defined workflows. Xenio provides a flexible environment that allows users to quickly adapt their workflows to take advantage of new service opportunities and simplify their management.
As for TV Everywhere, the adaptive bit transcoding provided by the SelenioNext (ABR) platform is key. Media processing solutions based on SelenioFlex software, powered by Xenio, also provide flexibility from live file-to-file encoding and transcoding for applications from production to multi-screen distribution. SelenioEdge content delivery network software offers scalability and efficient caching streaming, enabling a complete TV Everywhere experience in both workflows and delivery.
Finally, in signal processing and compression, new IBC solutions will make their debut including the uniquely architectural 1RU Selenio
