Peru is the first step in an internationalization strategy of Grupo Secuoya's success model, on whose path Chile, Colombia, Mexico and the United States are located, in the short term.

Sequoia Group fully enters the Latin market with the corporate participation in the local production company Imizu, one of the most solid companies in the Peruvian audiovisual scene. The agreement, which contemplates the acquisition of 51% of the capital of this firm by Secuoya, represents the first step in the international landing that the company has set as its objective this year.

With this operation executed by the Secuoya Content Distribution division, the group exports its more than tested model internationally: being present throughout the audiovisual value chain, creating a content network, meeting demands for services, new business models and international and national distribution. By virtue of the agreement signed with Secuoya, Imizu is in a privileged position with respect to its local competitors by having a leading audiovisual group as a partner and increasing its catalog with all its own and third-party productions, which include everything from entertainment and fiction to factual entertainment, branded content and documentaries. “With our landing in Peru, we seek to implement our model there and open the market in areas of content, marketing and services, with this agreement with Imizu we intend to create a Peruvian Secuoya,” explains Raúl Berdonés, president of Grupo Secuoya.

Perú es la primera parada de una imparable carrera que, a corto plazo, cerrará acuerdos en los territorios más emblemáticos: Chile, Colombia, México y Estados Unidos. La estrategia internacional de Grupo Secuoya tiene un claro objetivo: tener la capacidad para competir a nivel global. Para ello, el grupo audiovisual se ha hecho con un catálogo atractivo con el que triunfa en todos los mercados internacionales y busca el apoyo de socios en cada país. La red Secuoya, por tanto, está integrada por productoras asociadas, socios en cada terreno, que facilitan la entrada en el mercado local.

Creada en 2006 como una alternativa para la creación de nuevos formatos, Imizu no solo es realizadora de proyectos sino también generadora de contenidos. De hecho, en sus más de ocho años de vida ha producido más de 1000 horas de televisión para los canales locales peruanos. Creadora de series (‘Médicos en alerta’, ‘Clave uno’, etc) y telenovelas (‘La Lola’ y ‘Corazón rebelde’, entre otras), Imizu ha sabido ubicar sus productos en los principales mercados latinoamericanos y en el target hispano de Estados Unidos.
