Aviwest simplifies mobile news production with DMNG Manager

Coinciding with IBC 2014 During IBC 2014, Aviwest will launch DMNG Manager, a new server application that will allow broadcasters and producers to monitor and manage mobile news production equipment, including transmitters, smartphones and receivers.

Through an intuitive web-based user interface, which can be installed as a cloud-based application or by a head-end solution, operators will be able to easily allocate resources and route live video content for broadcasts over 3G/4G wireless cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and satellite networks from anywhere in the world. By dramatically streamlining mobile digital news gathering operations, DMNG Manager provides broadcasters and other video professionals with significant time and cost savings.

DMNG Manager includes a variety of advanced monitoring features that simplify news gathering. Through the device's geo-location function, operators can easily identify the exact location of each field unit for better management and easier troubleshooting.

Another function of the new Aviwest proposal is to know in real time the performance of all devices, showing the availability of resources and potential alerts. The system displays a thumbnail of the video from each source in a grid that allows operators to decide whether to route the video to one or multiple receivers or CDNs.
