Euronews displays EVS technology to migrate to HD in news production

The Paneuropeo information channel chooses EVS as the heart of its high definition news production workflow.

Euronews, the most important news channel in Europe, has opted for the technology of EVS in the production of news both and within their studies. Immersed in a high -definition migration process, EVS XS mean servers and the IPDIRECTOR Production Assets Management Suite are consolidated as the authentic heart of the new live workflow in Euronews.

Innovative EVS news solutions have been integrated with storage and broadcasting systems of Harmonic already existing Euronews. XS servers will be used to allow news production, either live or study with multiple feeds, distributing signal for playout or for videowalls in the study. It will also allow Euronews to manage 16 audio channels for broadcasting, adjusting to their need to inform in thirteen different languages. The ipdirector system will be used to control the intake and issuance commands, as well as manage the contents.

XS servers provide Euronews the indispensable flexibility to cover last minute news. Servers can be configured differently for each function, with up to six reversible server reversible channels. The servers are connected through a broadband exchange network of EVS XNET2, offering operators immediate access to the content ingested on any server from any IP Director Workstation.
