Enensys OneBeam

A few months before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, DTT broadcasting begins its modernization throughout France, with the launch of the France 2 channel in UHD/4K. To do this, the TDF operator relies on OneBeam DVB-SIS technology from Enensys.

The overall effectiveness of the system is enhanced by the use of an innovative transport architecture based on tecnología DVB-SIS (Single Illumination System), implemented in the solution OneBeam from Enensys, which allows the same satellite stream to be used for individual DTH (direct to home) satellite reception and to feed DTT transmitters.

This new architecture allows TDF to offer UHD broadcasts to its clients with excellent quality of service, and paves the way for the broadcast of new DTT channels in UHD.

Gaëlle Kaminsky, Deputy Director of Audiovisual and Networks at TDF, states that "TDF, which operates the UHD headend, is very satisfied with the success of the deployment of DVB-SIS technology through the innovative Enensys solution. This allows us to contribute to the evolution of the DTT platform, mutualizing services for viewers on both terrestrial and satellite channels."

For its part, Régis Le Roux, CEO and founder of Enensys Technologies, highlights that "TDF and Enensys have been partners for a long time, and we are delighted to contribute to the modernization of DTT in France. Our OneBeam solution has been deployed internationally for 10 years, and we are proud to install it in France as part of the launch of UHD in DTT. Thanks to this solution, second generation DTT networks can be deployed more quickly and at a lower cost, for a notable improvement in the viewer experience."
