The Honduran chain Metrocinemas trusts Christie for the first 'pure laser' multiplex in Central America
The exhibition company also installs RGB laser and Christie Vive Audio projectors at two other cinema complexes.
The Honduran cinema chain Metrocinemas has relied on pure laser RGB projection from Christie, based on lighting technology Christie RealLaser, as well as in the sound system Christie Vive Audio, for its new Metrocinemas Megamall multiplex, which will be the first complex in Central America fully equipped with RGB laser projectors.
This new multiplex, located in the largest shopping center in San Pedro Sula, the country's industrial capital, will be the most modern and attractive in Honduras. Their eight rooms, with a total capacity for 1,007 people, will have CP2315-RGB and CP2320-RGB projectors, providing them with unprecedented levels of brightness, color and contrast at the service of a cinematographic quality that is difficult to find in commercial cinema auditoriums.
Metrocinemas is a long-standing Christie client, since the 30 theaters it has in the country are equipped with the brand's Xenon projectors. “We have always trusted Christie for its cutting-edge technology and the company's global recognition as the undisputed leader in this industry,” explains Raul Agüero, Commercial Manager of Metrocinemas.
And he adds: "At Metrocinemas we have been pioneers in Honduras in incorporating the latest in technology, such as digital projection and 3D. That is why we also wanted to be the first in the country to offer RGB laser technology and provide our audience with the best projection and luminosity. We love to always use the best."
All rooms in the new multiplex will be equipped with the Christie Vive Audio cinema sound solution, more specifically with LS1 and LS2 screen speakers, LS4S surround speakers, S218LP subwoofers and CDA2, CDA5 and CDA7.5 Class D amplifiers. “The truth is that this is our first experience with Vive Audio and we trust that it will provide us with the best surround and dynamic sound,” says Raul Agüero.
As if that were not enough, Metrocinemas has also acquired three more Christie RGB laser projectors for a new cinema complex in Santa Rosa de Copan, a city located in the west of the country, where a cinema has never existed before. Specifically, this three-room complex with capacity for 480 people will be equipped with two Christie CP2315-RGB and one Christie CP2320-RGB. Christie Vive Audio Class D amplifiers, screen speakers and subwoofers will also be used in these three rooms to enhance the capabilities of the theater so that every seat has the best sound.
America Cinemas in Tegucigalpa
But the operation does not end here. Metrocinemas has also trusted Christie Vive Audio for the VIP room of its América cinemas, a six-screen complex in Tegucigalpa, the country's capital. “This is one of our classic multiplexes that serves a demanding audience and deserved a room different from the others,” explains Raul Agüero. Featuring 7.1 sound, this room will be equipped with LS1 screen speakers, S218LP subwoofers, LS4S surround speakers and CDA1, CDA5 and CDA7.5 Class D amplifiers.
The operation with Metrocinemas is being carried out through the integrator TMPC, which will supply and install all Christie equipment in the three complexes. “The truth is that Metrocinemas is characterized by always being at the forefront of technology for movie theaters and caring about offering the best comfort for its customers,” says Jaime Sánchez from TMPC. “So it is a pride for us to be participating in this project,” he adds.
Diego López, general manager NOLA and Andean Region of Christie, points out: "We are very honored that Metrocinemas has recognized the superiority and brilliance of our RGB laser projection systems. The installation of these projectors together with the Christie Vive Audio systems will consolidate Metrocinemas' position as one of the most avant-garde exhibition chains in the entire American continent and will provide its viewers with an unforgettable cinematographic experience."
The RealLaser family of projectors offers all the benefits of high-performance laser projectors in a compact, all-in-one form factor, eliminating the need for external sub-ambient cooling. Added to this is a low cost of ownership, excellent image quality and an exceptional operational life that exceeds 30,000 hours of operation without changing the lamp. The RealLaser ensures higher and more consistent brightness levels throughout the life of the projector, meeting DCI standards throughout the life of the projector.
