Megabox opts for Christie's pure RGB laser for its flagship multiplex

Megabox, the third largest cinema chain in South Korea, has chosen the latest generation RGB pure laser projection systems from Christie for its flagship Megabox COEX multiplex located in Seoul's upscale Gangnam district, as well as several of its other cinema complexes in major cities across the country.

Megabox has adopted RGB pure laser projection in recent years to provide its viewers with the most realistic and vivid images. Fifteen of Megabox COEX's 16 screens use Christie's latest RGB pure laser cinema projectors, with Christie lighting technology Real Laser.

The projectors include the Christie CP4440-RGB For premium large format (PLF) auditoriums, projectors CP4430-RGB y CP4420-RGB for conventional rooms and the CP2309-RGB projectors for smaller auditoriums. Opened in 2000, this iconic cinema is currently one of the largest multiplexes in South Korea.

In addition to the Megabox COEX multiplex, Christie RGB pure laser cinema projectors have also been installed in the recently opened Megabox Daejeon Shinsegae in the city of Daejeon, Megabox Masan in the southern city of Changwon, as well as in Megabox Gwang-myeong, Megabox Yongin Giheung, Megabox Namyangju Hyundai Outlet Space y Megabox Anseong Starfield in Gyeonggi province.

RGB “all in one”

All RGB pure laser projectors installed in these spaces feature Christie's patented “all-in-one” RGB laser architecture with integrated cooling and sealed optical path. It is the most efficient architecture available and Christie is the only company in the world to offer these innovative options together.

The current line of film projectors from the series CineLife+ Christie features ultra-fast Series 4 processing electronics.
