The RTVE.es mobile and tablet applications for iOS and Android incorporate this option to 'A la carte' videos.

TVE Tv Chromecast

The RTVE.es applications for Android and iOS mobile phones and tablets already have support for two of the main devices on the market that allow videos to be sent to the television: Apple TV and Chromecast. One more step in innovation that makes the Corporation's website the first in Spain to offer this function through its apps.

The new ways of consuming television involve a simple gesture: launching the videos on the television screen from a mobile phone or tablet. This behavior, increasingly common in Spanish homes, is possible thanks to devices that connect to the television and allow you to enjoy audiovisual content via the Internet on the big screen.

The operation is very simple: when you click on “Play” to play any video in the RTVE.es apps, if the device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the mobile or tablet, the corresponding icon will appear on the screen and the user can decide whether or not they want to launch the video on their television.

The functionality allows you to continue browsing on your mobile or tablet while enjoying the program on the television.

Subtitles

Another new feature of the RTVE.es apps on mobile phones and tablets is access to subtitles in some of the TVE programs. Series like Isabel o Áred eagle, news programs such as the Telediario or Weekly Report, programs like TV Documents o The Adventure of Knowledge They have integrated subtitles that the user can activate to access them.

RTVE.es applications have millions of downloads and users use them daily to watch live or 'A la carte' television in any place or situation. Access to digital content through mobile phones and tablets represents an average of 50% on RTVE.es, and surpasses browsing through computers in special events.
