The series 'El Barco' will have an adaptation in the United States
CW and Warner Bros Studios acquire the adaptation rights to the Atresmedia series. Jennifer Johnson ('Lost') is already writing the pilot for a series whose executive production will be carried out by Daniel Écija.
The North American studio Warner Bros. has closed an agreement with the CW network, belonging to the CBS channel consortium, for the recording of a pilot for the series The Boat, which will be titled The Magellan.
This fiction, created and produced in Spain by Globomedia for Antena 3, thus begins its journey in the United States after having been adapted in Russia and sold in more than fifty countries.
Jennifer Johnson, executive producer and writer of series such as Lost, The Following, Alcatraz, Chase o Cold Case, has begun writing the script for the pilot, in which Daniel Écija will be executive producer. The Spanish production company has once again partnered on this project with Ombra Films, a company run by Jaume Collet Serra and Juan Solá, who will share executive production with Laura Fernández Espeso (Globomedia).
The Boat is a series created by Álex Pina, Iván Escobar and Daniel Écija of which Antena 3 broadcast three seasons with an average audience of 3.2 million viewers (17.4% share). Among young people it reached 33.7% screen share.
