Barco begins the deployment of its 4K 6P projectors
Barco's new DP4K-60L laser projector integrates a 6P solution for cinema, being able to project 4K content at 60 fps and in 3D with full 4K resolution.
Barco has begun shipping its first 4K 6P laser projectors. According to the company, exhibition giants such as Cinemark, Kinepolis, Santikos, and several cinema chains in China, Latin America, and Europe have already begun ordering the first projectors of this model.
Todd Hoddick, VP Global Entertainment at Barco, says: “When we developed our laser projector, we knew immediately that we were setting new standards in cinematic imaging – Our customers are delighted, as our laser projectors have significantly improved the cinematic experience for enthusiasts and moviegoers around the world; we elevate immersive realism in more vivid and sharp images.”
Designed from the ground up, the DP4K-60L laser projector is Barco's commitment to having a 6P solution for cinema and at the same time capable of displaying 4K content at 60 fps and in 3D with full 4K resolution.
The DP4K-60L is a compact 60,000 lumen projector and has a fully integrated system with unified laser light sources that are housed inside the projector, guaranteeing high system durability and efficiency. It features the Barco polarized 3D laser system, an active shutter and 3D color separation, offering maximum efficiency in color-based 3D from a single projector to provide consistent, bright and uniform images with great contrast and no lamp flicker.
