The Shopping Channel (TSC) is migrating to full HD production. In this environment, TSC has opted for the use of Solid State Logic C10 consoles due to their reliability and ease of use.

The Shopping Channel has begun a migration process to high definition. For the audio mixing, this Canadian broadcaster has opted for the C10 consoles from Solid State Logic.

TSC is using the console for all of its weekly HD productions. John DeHaas, director of on-air operations at the telemarketing channel, noted that "now that we have completed the transition to all production in high definition, the C10 fits perfectly within our equipment mix. We chose the C10 because of its rich set of features adaptable to our needs. This includes SSL's Production Assistants, which streamline production operations and our options. The Dialogue Automix software for dialogue, in particular, has been a great help in handling daily situations of multiple microphones, as our engineers can now focus on producing a high-quality mix, instead of chasing faders.”

The Shopping Channel facility is made up of two main television studios that house the programming sets: Studio A with 390 square meters and Studio B with 427 square meters, both served by the SSL C10 in its new 350 square foot HD 1 Control Room. The station also relies on the console's integrated broadcast, line-up and music system, C-Play and Eyeconix channel displays to help resolve quick changes.

“We used the C-Play package to easily insert necessary audio segments,” explains DeHass. "This fantastic feature has greatly simplified our workflow, giving us more time to focus on other production matters. Our goal is to provide a unique, dynamic and engaging shopping experience for our customers. The C10 helps make this goal a reality through its Production Assistant software options and simple visual graphics and images on the Eyeconix channel screen," he adds.
