Aimed at the broadcast market, DPA launches the new d:fine In-Ear
This versatile product combines DPA's renowned microphone technology with integrated in-ear monitoring providing the ultimate studio headphone unit for broadcast.
DPA Microphones has just launched, with the broadcast market in mind, the new d:fine In-Ear Broadcast Headset microphone. Aimed at show hosts and guests who use in-ear monitors to communicate with their producers backstage or to hear feedback from people being interviewed outside the studio, this d:fine combines the sound quality of a DPA microphone with a cutting-edge in-ear monitoring solution.
The new d:fine In-Ear Broadcast Headset Microphone is based on the same mechanical design and state-of-the-art capsules that have returned to DPA's d:fine range. With this model, earphone sleeves in two different sizes are included, and great care has been taken to ensure that there is no audio leakage between the in-ear drivers and the microphone capsule, which can be either omnidirectional or directional.
The unit incorporates two cables (microphone and headphones) that run parallel giving a clean and tidy appearance. A spring steel construction on the ear hook offers quick mounting around virtually any ear, while the cable to the in-ear earpiece can be lengthened or shortened to the user's liking. Any excess cable can be wrapped around the earpiece or placed behind the ear, while a cable router in the earpiece mount controls the run of the cable across the neck. It's easy to adjust the size of the earpiece mount and, by choosing between left and right ear orientation, it's even possible to give the broadcast host a 'camera-blind' side.
For the new d:fine In-Ear, DPA has incorporated a miniature MicroDot connector for the microphone and a mini-jack for the in-ear in-ear component. Adapters are available to fit most professional wireless beltpacks.
Combinations
Various combinations are available; the easiest to fit with a single ear mount, single in-ear construction or DPA's popular dual-ear two-ear mount with a single in-ear earpiece, which offers greater mounting security, but leaves one ear free of earpiece to preserve direct acoustic signals. There is also a dual hook-type clip-on mount with dual in-ear option for two-channel monitoring of producers or for stage monitoring for stage actors and singers.
While DPA has chosen black for its microphone cables and in-ear headphones, a choice of non-reflective black/silver is offered for its in-ear headphones and there is black, brown or beige for the ear hooks and microphone poles.
