Crosspoint begins distribution of the new Riedel solution that introduces Skype in professional broadcast environments

The STX-200 professional interface allows you to integrate live feeds from reporters and viewers into live programs, while preventing the typical problems of using non-professional Skype on a PC.

Skype TX

Microsoft has proposed to break into the broadcast market with Skype, in its professional TX version, by licensing its technology to a small group of manufacturers who now offer a turnkey solution to the market. One of these manufacturers is Riedel which has launched the STX-200 professional interface, whose distribution has just started Crosspoint.

This proposal allows Skype to be brought to the professional broadcast environment. Licensed by Microsoft, the new Riedel product offers the solution to the growing need of broadcasters to find a reliable solution in a single device that allows the integration of live signals from reporters and viewers into live programs, while preventing the typical problems of using non-professional Skype on a PC, with scanning, HDMI-SDI converters or loss of audio and pop-ups in menus in the live signal.

Beyond a standalone solution, the STX-200 integrates Skype within the intercom system to foster a more powerful, flexible and workflow-optimized solution.

The 1UR equipment offers brodcast quality HD-SDI and balanced XLR audio as well as I/Os and has the professional software version of Microsoft Skype TX. The complete solution includes remote control and monitoring of Skype calls.
