Argentine Telefe improves the production, broadcast and archiving of programs with Dalet Media Life

Thanks to the integration of Dalet with Adobe Premiere CC, Telefe now has centralized access to content, fast production tools, advanced metadata and automation capabilities.

The Argentine broadcaster Telefe has improved the performance of its infrastructure for the production, distribution and archiving of programs thanks to The valley Media Life.

Santiago Matías Guimerans Soto, director of technology at Telefe, has assured that "Dalet Media Life has given us complete interoperability, allowing us to orchestrate the flow of media through our Adobe Premiere Pro CC non-linear editing systems, quality control systems, storage, playback and archiving platforms. With Dalet we have improved our broadcast operations, increasing production and simplifying distribution."

The implementation of the system has been carried out by IPlusB, based in Argentina, based on the scalable MAM Dalet platform and with specially designed production tools such as Dalet WebSpace integrated with Adobe Premiere Pro CC, a combination that is used for the preparation and production of the videos broadcast by Telefe.

Integration with Adobe

Simon Williams, senior director of business development at Adobe, admits that “by switching to Adobe Premiere Pro CC, a key component of Adobe Creative Cloud, Telefe can better manage various formats and distribution needs, unifying the entire post-production process for all workflows in a single tool.

Adobe works closely with companies like Dalet to integrate their solutions and optimize production, post-production and workflows. In the case of Telefe, Adobe Premiere Pro CC is integrated with Dalet MAM, creating a production environment where media flows seamlessly through the entire workflow.”

Serving as the control layer of the Grass Valley K2 server, Dalet manages multiple ingest locations on IMX 50, XDCAM HD, and XDCAM EX directly for storage and archiving. Web-based content access allows users to quickly search for any content, retrieve the file, add metadata, and select links. This footage is finished in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and saved for quality control or automatically distributed to multiple platforms such as YouTube. Metadata allows you to track each step through the workflow.

Guimerans Soto highlights that "with Dalet Media Life, we can create our own metadata sets and build specific workflows for our production needs. This will certainly allow us to adapt to new workflows quickly, and efficiently manage production needs for considerable time."

Dalet Media Life also facilitates the seamless exchange of multimedia content stored on Telefe's IBM tape robotics, XenData HSM. Previously, searches had to be carried out using the non-linear editing system with the resulting delay. Now with web-based access to the entire catalog of content and files, Telefe can easily exploit the added value of its extensive content library.
