Turkuvaz Media Group increases its ingest, archive, editing and broadcast capacity with Cinegy
Cinegy has been instrumental in digital production workflows at the Turkish AV group since 2011, when it migrated to HD.
Turkuvaz Media Group, the Turkish provider of channels such as ATV, AHaber, Anews, A2, Aspor, Apara, MinikA and MinikA GO, has expanded its use of technology Cinegy to increase your playout and editing capabilities on your channels. Cinegy software will be used in all phases of the production workflow: ingestion, archiving, monitoring, editing and broadcast.
Turkuvaz Media has built a new headquarters and operations center to serve 9 television channels and 4 radio channels. Now it has 17 studios with a total area of 9,000 m². The studies are designed to be able to serve different purposes of use. Twelve of them are 12 meters high and have a size that ranges between 200m² and 1500m². Five are 6 meters high and between 100 and 350 m² in area. These studies will be controlled by 6 performance control rooms with 4K infrastructure and 4 in HD. There are also 9 master controls with 4K infrastructure and equipment.
Cinegy has been instrumental in digital production workflows at the company since 2011, with the first phase at that time including a transition from SD to HD for select channels.
ATV, one of Turkuvaz Media Group's leading channels, has been a highly influential player in shaping Turkish television over the years due to its innovative and pioneering approach to program making, helped in recent years by Cinegy's advanced file-based technology that supports a fully digital end-to-end workflow with local integration, training and support provided by Cinegy's local partner Orsatek Bilisim.
Cinegy software is used for all stages of the production workflow; ingestion, archiving, monitoring and editing, including playout. The material arrives in various formats and is transferred to the digital archive where teams can access the content and collaborate on multiple tasks from different locations.
All rights are managed within the Cinegy system to ensure content security. Depending on access levels, users can access clips and metadata in the digital archive, allowing the material to be used over and over again without any reduction in quality.
Changes to material can be made directly from users' desktops, without the need for expensive editing suites, saving time and expense. Digital archiving enables collaboration between ATV offices in İstanbul and Ankara, eliminating delays, costs and inconveniences caused by physical distance when using tape-based workflows.
ATV has been broadcasting in HD since April 25, 2011 and has made several major Cinegy expansions in that time. The transition to HD broadcasting on ATV and Haber (News) was an important step forward for the Turkuvaz group. Cinegy allowed for an easy and seamless transition to adding the ability to broadcast in HD. Without the need for any additional equipment or hardware, it was now possible to stream in SD and HD simultaneously. The groundwork done with Turkuvaz's previous investments has certainly borne fruit, the Cinegy software has continually been maintained and offers all the benefits of today's advancements and development, especially in the transition to IP and 4K.
Currently, Turkuvaz owns Cinegy Archive with redundancy, 55 Cinegy Air PRO packages, several Cinegy Converts with 24 agents in total, 45 Cinegy Capture, and 380 Cinegy Desktops for editing.
