Studio Berlin increases its ingest capacity with DLE5/X2/100 and M264S4 cards from Matrox Video
The DLE5/X2/100 and M264S4 cards Matrox Video have allowed Studio Berlin, a service provider specialized in the broadcast field, increase the channel density of its ingestion servers.
Studio Berlin began developing more than 15 years ago a workflow based on recording servers tapeless to offer complete production workflows in combination with its own video asset management systems. This has allowed them to specialize in 24/7 non-stop automated recording for productions requiring high reliability and availability for daily episodes.
Currently, Studio Berlin has reached up to 24 FHD ingest channels simultaneous on a single video server, using cards 2x DLE5/X2/100 y M264S4/100 controlled with the Matrox DSX SDK. Recently, this configuration, which allows recording UHD a 8x 2160p25 u 8x 2160p50 with a second M264S4/100 for shows and concerts, it has been used to record 24x 1080p50 feeds of the format LOL – Last One Laughing, a Constantin Entertainment production for Prime Video.
Martin Oberdorfer, head of IT at Studio Berlin, is not only satisfied with the performance of the SDK the Matrox DSX, which is "incredible", but also plans to continue investigating the possibilities of the company's solutions: "We have other ideas that we would like to experiment with in the short term. One would be to cover some specific productions where an ST-2110 infrastructure already exists and use the Matrox DLE5Q25 or higher using multiple cards.”
