Data Media and Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales renew the TVE news and program production system

For this project, technologies from Avid, Glookast, Filecatalyst, Telestream Vantage, Cisco or EcoDigital Diva have been integrated, installed on Dell stations and servers.

Datos Media Technologies y Telefónica Audiovisual Services (TSA) have been in charge of the technological renewal of the production of programs and news from Prado del Rey, Torrespaña and the Canary Islands.

For this project, technologies have been integrated Avid, Glookast, Filecatalyst, Telestream Vantage, Cisco o EcoDigital Diva, installed on stations and servers Dell. All these brands and products have consolidated experience that provides quality and safety in all production processes.

As a novelty, the emission system has been integrated Avid iNews Command with video servers Avid Fastserve. This solution has very intuitive tools that provide the user with a friendly and secure environment to control each of the playout events.

As a network unifying element, two were chosen switchers Cisco Nexus 9336 main as Control Core plus two switchers Cisco 93180 and as client switchers the model Cisco 9348.

In the intake section, we have chosen Avid Interplay Capture as a control tool for Avid Fastserve ingest devices, which capture external video signals from dongles, DSNGs or other production sources. Furthermore, added to this section Media Producer y Media Service of Glookast, which is the system in charge of ingesting and transcoding files, all integrated into Avid Interplay.

It has a system of Avid Master graphics, fully integrated into Avid MediaCentral, which is an excellent open platform offering writing and post-production teams the possibility of creating and delivering content in shorter deadlines, even outside their workstations and with other devices.

More than 150 editing positions

The installation of more than 150 editing stations Avid Media Composer, 140 licenses Media Central Cloud UX and supplying more than 100 workstations Dell additional to the existing ones, together with all the previous equipment, makes it necessary to have a large shared storage with speed, power, security and high connectivity, which is why 4 engines have been integrated. Avid Nexus E5, each engine having the possibility of storage of up to 800 TB with bandwidth of 3.2 Gb/s and the simultaneous connection of 330 clients at 1 Gb, or clients from 10 Gb to 40 Gb, with the capacity to expand up to 3.2 PB of storage.

Avid Interplay Archive It will be the solution in charge of managing the archiving and recovery flow, being the link between Avid Interplay, Avid Nexis and the existing HSM Diva automation.

Finally, for transfers between the Canary Islands delegation and Prado del Rey (Madrid), a system of FileCatalyst transfer acceleration, which not only offers an increase in speed but also brings with it very high reliability and security and with the added advantage of being able to monitor transfers and download reports.

With this project, Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales and Data Media Technologies have implemented an integration solution that guarantees great technical quality to the production of the public Corporation.
