The new DP-V2410 monitor, which adds to Canon's range of 4K monitors, along with the current DP-V3010, offers a 4K resolution of 4,096 x 2,160, with spectacular accuracy in color reproduction.

Canon DP-V2410

Canon debuts at NAB a new generation of recording and playback solutions for 4K production workflows. The new range includes the DP-V2410, a robust 24-inch (61 cm) 4K reference monitor and two new 4K camcorders: the EOS Cine 4K EOS C300 Mark II camera and the XC10, a new compact and lightweight camera for 4K video and stills, aimed at beginning filmmakers.

4K on the new DP-V2410

The new DP-V2410 has been designed for studio or field use, for both television and film productions, to provide accurate and reliable viewing of 4K content and facilitate live recording for quality control, focus and exposure confirmation, as well as studio color management and editing.

The new DP-V2410 monitor, which adds to Canon's range of 4K monitors, along with the current DP-V3010, offers a 4K resolution of 4,096 x 2,160, with spectacular accuracy in color reproduction. Thanks to the new High Dynamic Range Mode, this monitor allows you to see, simultaneously, the details of both highlights and shadows, thus offering a more natural and realistic image.

The DP-V2410 has been optimized to be compatible with DCI-P3 cinema, ITU-R BT.2020 broadcast and ACES Proxy (ACES 1.0) standards. In addition, a new IPS panel with RGB LED backlit system allows a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, while Canon's automatic color and brightness correction system guarantees image quality, color and luminance consistently over time.

Equipped with 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI interfaces, plus a debayer converter (which converts RAW images to RGB), the DP-V2410 is capable of displaying native 4K RAW recordings from compatible EOS Cine cameras, saving the cost of an external debayer unit. Plus, an Image Quality Link feature automatically syncs color settings from compatible Canon cameras, preventing adjustment errors.

A host of built-in features enable quick and easy content review, including a 4K Waveform Monitor and Vectorscope, which confirm signal data. This new monitor incorporates multiple 1D/3D-LUTs for convenient monitoring and an audio level meter for accurate sound recording.

The DP-V2410 features a sleek, robust body and features a sturdy handle. Weighing only 12 kg, it is easy to transport from one stage to another and is equipped with a 24-volt direct current battery for all-day work.

Canon EOS C300 Mark II

EOS C300 Mark II y XC10

The EOS C300 Mark II is a new rugged EOS Cine 4K camcorder, which will allow filmmakers and television cameramen to record spectacular 4K video, with a dynamic range of 15 stops at high transfer rates on internal CFast 2.0 cards.

This camera's new Canon-designed Super 35mm CMOS sensor, along with expanded sensitivity up to ISO 102,400, delivers excellent low-light performance, allowing camera operators to record low-noise video in a wide variety of situations, without compromising image quality.

To cope with a wide range of recording applications, the EOS C300 Mark II offers both full manual control, ideal for cinematic environments, and automatic modes. These include improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF (now covering approximately 80% of the frame vertically and 80% horizontally), automatic white balance and Face Detection AF, making shooting even easier for freelance journalists and documentary filmmakers working in different locations.

On the other hand, in Las Vegas Canon premieres the new XC10, designed for aspiring filmmakers and ideal to be a second camera in professional productions. It offers the flexibility to record both 4K video at high transfer rates and take 12 megapixel photos with a single device.
