Paco Arango prepares the filming of his new film 'The Healer' in Canada

Filming, which will begin on June 4 in Nova Scotia, will have Javier Aguirresarobe in charge of photography.

Paco Arango will begin filming his new film on June 4 in Nova Scotia (Canada), The Healer, a very personal story that mixes drama, comedy and magical realism.

This is his second film as a director after Letter, which obtained three nominations for the 2012 Goya Awards: Best New Direction for Paco Arango, Best Supporting Actress for Goya Toledo and Best Original Song (Our beach is you).

Starring Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Dracula wrote NBC, Mr. Selfridge, A world without end), Camilla Luddington (Grey's Anatomy), the legendary Jonathan Pryce and Jorge García (the unforgettable Hurley from Lost), The Healer tells the story of Alec, an English mechanical engineer unable to put his life in order. When his electronics repair store “El Curandero” is about to go bankrupt, a relative he never knew he had offers to solve his problems in exchange for him moving to Canada, the place of origin of his ancestors, for a year. There he will discover that the most incomprehensible things begin to happen around him. Facing yourself, your past, your life and, above all, the gift you never knew you had, will inspire the people around you to believe in something beyond what can be explained.

The filming of The Healer will last 7 weeks and is produced by Paco Arango himself and Enrique Posner (Tie Me Up, Far Heels, The Lady and Death).

Javier Aguirresarobe (the saga Dusk, The others, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, ​​The Road, Blue Jasmine), will be in charge of the film's photography.

As in Letter, a good part of the proceeds from this new film will go to the Aladina Foundation chaired by the director Paco Arango himself and who fights against childhood cancer. The film is dedicated to Paul Newman and his special camps for children with serious illnesses “Serious Fun Camps” so Aladina will allocate the proceeds to this cause.
