Synopsis of My other Jon
Merche (Carmen Maura), a woman about to turn 76, is told that she has very little time left to live. Determined to make her last wishes come true, she engages her three best friends from her villa in some pranks beyond their years: purposely getting trapped at night in El Corte Inglés and even hiring a go-go artist.
Among his wishes is also to be able to see the sea for the last time. For this reason, he invites his daughter Rocío (Olivia Molina) to visit the island of La Palma, but at the last minute Merche's health prevents her from making the trip. They receive the surprising news that an eccentric scientist (Rossy de Palma) has managed to transmute the soul of an elderly person into the corpse of a recently deceased person for three days to fulfill any dream.
Determined to share an unforgettable journey between mother and daughter, Merche's soul will be introduced inside the only corpse available: a big 58-year-old Basque truck driver (Fernando Albizu) to begin a crazy adventure. Meanwhile, Merche's body will remain plugged in and well cared for to be reintroduced upon her return from La Palma.
When Mark (Carlos Santos), Rocío's husband, receives the unpleasant news that his wife is not in the Canary Islands with her mother-in-law, but rather having a love affair with a big Basque man, he will show up in La Palma. There is no coherent explanation that Rocío can give her husband to make him believe that Jon is her mother-in-law. Even more so when Jon, that is, Merche, mischievously reiterates to his son-in-law that he is his wife's lover.
