Tokyo Sound Production sets its sights on Tokyo 2020 with the help of Mistika
One of the most relevant post-production companies in Japan updates its Mistika systems in order to cope with the numerous projects it will carry out for the celebration of the Olympic Games.
With its sights set on the 2020 Olympic Games, Tokyo Sound Production (TSP), one of Japan's largest post-production companies, has just upgraded its Mistika systems from Sgo.
Mistika Ultima provides maximum reliability, efficiency and agility in workflows from HD to 8K 60P. Once the Next Generation Television and Broadcasting Promotion Forum has launched the channel in UHDV Channel 4K and JSAT Corporation has started a multichannel broadcast in 4K under the SKY Perfect platform, TSP has seen it necessary to put itself on the front line, with the help of Mistika, in the creation of 4K 60P content. The team is already making full use of the system's versatility and its extensive toolset to service the immediate demands of its customers.
Recently Channel 4K aired a program produced by CS Digital Broadcasting using Mistika. Shigeyuki Koeda, who was in charge of this project as Mistika operator, acknowledges that "it is always good to hear positive feedback from our customers about the stability of 4K 60P content playback with Mistika. After receiving this project from an uncompressed one, I put the content into the Mistika timeline and made the project with immediate play-out. It does not require much time, and with Mistika there is no stress in front of the customers."
For his part, the director of TSP, Yutaka Hamada, recognizes that "Sgo Mistika's technology is truly impressive. There is practically nothing that Mistika cannot do. It is very convenient to produce any project quickly in real time, whether 4K or 8K, for broadcast, cinema or advertising. Its creative functions, advanced workflows and independence in resolution have convinced us, being convinced that we have the support of the most innovative system in the world. Facing the exciting and Olympic year 2020, we feel fully prepared with Mistika by our side.”
Geoff Mills, Director of Global Sales and Operations at Sgo, highlights that “with higher resolution formats quickly gaining ground in Japan, many post-production companies are looking to Sgo's Mistika for support for their current and future projects with maximum stability in a rapidly changing industry.”
