Sky Germany contracts with SES for more satellite capacity for the take-off of Ultra High Definition

The leading platform in Germany and Austria secures additional capacity at the 19.2º orbital position.

Sky Deutschland, the leading pay TV platform in Germany and Austria, has secured additional capacity at orbital position 19.2ºEast for the deployment of its future new Ultra High Definition services.

Holger Ensslin, Director of Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Distribution at Sky Deutschland, admits that "at Sky Deutschland we believe in innovation and offering our customers the best offer and new television experiences, which is why we are investing in Ultra HD. The agreement with SES ensures that we can continue to develop our plans in this regard and be prepared for the market launch of Ultra HD."
