Seis miembros de la Junta Directiva de la institución abordarán el papel de este formato con el objetivo de que tenga mayor visibilidad.

'La vida es corta'

The Film Academy has launched a commission aimed at giving the short film greater visibility. The recently created permanent commission for short film affairs seeks to work on the educational, awareness and dissemination issue of short films so that academics, the world of culture, society, even the short filmmakers themselves, are much more aware of the importance and validity of our cinematography quarry.

The appearance of this commission, formed by the general director of the Academy, Porfirio Enríquez; the first vice president Gracia Querejeta; the members of the Board of Directors María Luisa Gutiérrez (producers), Judith Colell (direction), Guillermo Maldonado (editing) and David Rodríguez (sound); and Pepe Jordana (coordinator of the Spanish Short Film Coordinator), is one more example that more space must be given to these short works that in recent years have achieved Oscar nominations and have won awards in international competitions.

The three short film associations, PNR (The Platform of New Directors), AIC (Industrial Association of Short Films) and the Short Film Coordinator will collaborate and work with the commission, whose work decalogue includes, among other topics, giving more space to this format in the Academia magazine, programming short pieces in the screening room, holding private showings of short films and developing a film dissemination program for schools with works that are the quarry of our cinematography.
