The Correos Film Festival is born, the first “postal film festival” in Spain. Three intense days between October 30 and November 1 at Cineteca Madrid with communication, technology and the proximity of postal services as the theme, and cinema and audiovisual creation as vehicles.
Correos, one of the most deeply-rooted hallmarks of Spanish society, kicks off this initiative with the call for the Correos Film Festival Short Film Contest, aimed at disseminating the values of the post office and the figure of its main actor: the postman. With 12,000 euros in prizes, this will undoubtedly become one of the most striking activities of a complete and varied program where a selection of national and international screenings will be joined by discussions with directors and actors, presentations, children's sessions or exhibitions of stamps and film posters.
Aimed at national or foreign creators residing in Spain, the contest will receive proposals (a minimum of three minutes and a maximum of five) between August 10 and October 12, which will be eligible for three Jury Prizes and the Audience Prize, awarded through online voting.
The Jury will be made up of Félix Sabroso, Juan Cavestany and Roberto Pérez Toledo, who in addition to evaluating the works received, will offer their own creations shot exclusively for this event. The rules of the contest can be consulted at the official website of the festival, where the participating short films will also be exhibited.
Among the films chosen for this I Correos Film Festival are titles such as Her, Spike Jonze, Holiday, by Jacques Tati, The tenth letter, by Virginia García del Pino, or Alou's letters, de Montxo Armendáriz.
