Mallorca Arts on Screen (MAS): a festival focused on film events is born

From April 2 to 7, a festival and conference will bring together the event production and distribution, dance, theater and museum industries in movie theaters.

From April 2 to 7, Mallorca will host the first festival focused on the production and distribution of events, dance, theater and museums in movie theaters. Mallorca Arts on Screen (BUT) will consist of a festival and a professional conference for the new circuit of live or delayed broadcasts of cultural events in cinemas.

The evolution of the distribution of cultural content has favored the development of a circuit of productions through which creative transmissions or recordings of Opera, Dance, Theater and Museum events reach audiences around the world today, live or recorded. Entities such as the Liceu in Barcelona, ​​the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Bolshoi Ballet or the Paris Opera, among others, thus reach global audiences, who sometimes experience a large event simultaneously and live, and other times go to cinemas to enjoy them on a delayed basis. For their part, the best Museums in the world open their permanent collections and temporary exhibitions to film productions that also travel around the world in movie theaters.

The Mallorca Arts on Screen Festival and Conference were born with the desire to become the world reference in the evaluation, recognition and meeting of audiences and producers who are the protagonists of this new circuit, called to revitalize both cultural production and its knowledge by increasingly broader audiences, with the ease of being able to see live performances from the best Opera, Dance, Theater and Museums in the world in a local cinema, and for very little money.

Mallorca Arts on Screen: connected events

On the one hand, a Film Festival, from April 2 to 7, with 6 days of screenings in cinemas and culture in Mallorca, con las mejores producciones de este circuíto cultural. El Festival otorgará Premios del Jurado y del Público, con cuatro categorías: Ópera, Danza, Teatro y Museos. Además habrá una sección “fuera de competición” con producciones complementarias, y un Premio Especial “Año Europeo del Patrimonio Cultural 2018”, que reconocerá el trabajo o el artista más representativo de los valores de Europa y su diversidad cultural.

En segundo lugar, una Conferencia Profesional, los días 6 y 7 de abril, punto de encuentro de los profesionales y las empresas implicadas en la producción y distribución de contenidos culturales de Ópera, Danza, Teatro y Museos, con presentaciones de programas, acuerdos y tecnologías para el crecimiento del circuito, networking y promoción de la actividad y nuevos acuerdos.

Los públicos aficionados al género podrán ver en cines y salas de cultura de la isla, en tan sólo una semana, las mejores producciones de Ópera, Danza, Teatro y Museos proyectadas en vivo o en diferido en cines de todo el mundo a lo largo de 2017. Y los profesionales –artistas, entidades, gestores culturales, profesionales de las salas y la distribución cinematográfica, realizadores, escenógrafos- podrán además reunirse para compartir nuevos proyectos y pulsar el futuro de un sector al alza según todos los indicadores.
