Sony PSZ-RA6T

Sony has introduced a series of high-capacity, high-speed products at IBC 2015 to meet the needs of today's 4K recording professionals. For efficient data transfer in the field, there is now the rugged portable RAID drive (dual 3.5-inch hard drive), which will allow users to store 4 TB or 6 TB of material in the field. Additionally, the new SBP-256D SxS PRO+ series card redefines on-site video recording with its 256GB of storage, double the largest capacity card available.

With the increase in 4K video production, the demand for high-capacity, high-speed data transfer solutions increases. Unlike current RAID hard drives, the new PSZ-RA series high-speed RAID drives offer flexible and efficient storage capacity for large amounts of data, not only in the studio, but also in the same location. . The drives can store data at speeds of up to 440 Mbps in RAID 0 mode, allowing you to transfer 1 TB in approximately 50 minutes.

Ideal for reliable outdoor use, the rugged portable RAID drives are highly durable due to their unique construction. They have internal and external shock absorbers to protect the unit against vibrations and shocks up to MIL50G/11ms (in non-operational mode). The units are also supplied with a carrying handle; The cardboard box, resistant and easy to transport, protects the product against damage caused during transport.

There are two versions available: PSZ-RA4T 4TB and PSZ-RA6T 6TB. Both feature dual USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt ports, 25 times faster than FireWire 800. Additionally, dual Thunderbolt ports support daisy-chaining of up to six drives. Flexibility is enhanced with the choice of RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD hardware modes.

To facilitate the management of audiovisual content, the Memory Media Utility application is provided (it can be downloaded on the page Sony website). End users can use this application to format their drive, check remaining capacity, file system or RAID mode.
